Miesha Haynes-Nwofia is owner of The Nwofia Law Firm and has experience in Family Law, Business Law, Criminal Law, and Personal Injury.
Miesha Haynes-Nwofia was born in Waco, Texas and received her High School Diploma from Waco High School. Upon graduation from Waco High School, she moved to Houston, Texas and attended University of Houston where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with a Minor in Business Management. After receiving her degree Miesha taught school for several years at Harvest Christian Academy in Pasadena, TX and Pasadena Independent School District, Pasadena, TX.
Miesha enrolled at Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University in Houston, TX in 2006. Miesha graduated from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Juris Doctor December 2009 CUM LAUDE. She was a member of the Moot Court, Board of Advocates and also served as a Student Ambassador.
Miesha opened The Nwofia Law Firm P.L.L.C in 2010 and handles Criminal and Family Law cases in Harris County, Montgomery County, Galveston County, Fort Bend County, and Brazoria County to name a few.
Her experience includes:
- Filing and successfully litigating family cases to resolution such as Divorces, Suits Affecting the Parent Child Relationship, Paternity, and Adoption;
- Performing detailed case assessments and recommending legal strategies in the defense of criminal case as well as responses to family and civil cases;
- Conducting accurate research and drafting legal memorandum on a broad range of legal issues pertinent to the effective resolution of client disputes; Successfully negotiating the settlement of various lawsuits; and
- Extensive legal drafting of demand letters, discovery, pleadings, and settlement documents.
Miesha has had the esteemed privilege to clerk for The Honorable Judge Lamar McCorkle 133rd Civil District Court, The Honorable Judge Jennifer Elrod U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, The Honorable Judge Jeff Bohm U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Texas and Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Houston, Texas.
Miesha has also worked for the Attorney General of Texas in the child support division.
